Senior Product Designer

Job Description

Orbita is currently seeking a Senior Product Designer with deep expertise in creating customer-centric experiences to join the product team in a very influential role reporting to the Chief Product Officer. You will have experience designing end-to-end interfaces and systems for consumer web and business-facing enterprise SaaS applications. 

The ideal candidate will bring a forward-thinking design aesthetic, demonstrated knowledge of industry best practices, and the drive to deliver results as part of a dynamic, cross-functional team. A great communicator, he/she can take a solution from idea to implementation. 

The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing user-centered design processes and methodologies that will ensure the product team is prepared and structured for continued growth.  

We are looking for a positive and passionate person who is self-motivated and happy to work hands-on as part of a small team for some of the world’s most innovative companies. 


  • Plan strategically and think tactically, collaborating closely with stakeholders, including management, sales, engineering, and members of other departments in a highly iterative and agile environment while advocating for user-centered design principles throughout the software development lifecycle to ensure amazing customer experiences

  • Problem-solve, knowing when to think big, when to be pragmatic, and explore divergent concepts/ideas while understanding how to converge and build iteratively towards your vision

  • Participate in the creation of requirements, user journey maps, information architecture models, wireframes, prototypes, visual designs, and other types of product design collateral considering multiple user persona types

  • Conduct interviews with customers, potential customers, and internal stakeholders, and leverage this research along with your understanding of design principles and other objective information to support your decisions  

  • Utilize research and data to influence the shape of the product while executing design work using high-quality wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes in a timely manner 

  • Create a unified, end-to-end experience through close collaboration with cross-functional team members  

  • Advocate for design by sharing your work and presenting cross-functionally, while being able to precisely articulate design rationale and bringing innovative ideas to the table 

  • Help define and implement product design processes and methodologies to ensure the product team is structured for continued growth, as well as ensure our processes consistently result in product experiences that exceed customer expectations 

  • Use your insights and perspectives to help inform and influence short and long-term product roadmaps


  • An experienced designer. You expertly build end-to-end experiences, design systems, and information architecture. You sketch, create flow diagrams, wireframe, and prototype to illustrate UX and UI. You are an expert in creating UI & interaction systems for design pattern libraries, atomic design systems and style guides 

  • An industry veteran. You have industry knowledge, background, or previous experience in a medical, life sciences, or healthcare related field

  • Comfortable with technology. You are at ease working with a highly technical product. As such, you are comfortable working closely with developers both as customers and as co-worker 

  • Collaborative. You will work with customers, prospects, and internal stakeholders on a multi-disciplinary team to get the best possible outcomes. You are comfortable working with individuals representing vastly different perspectives, including executives, business users, and engineers  

  • Proactive. You are a proactive self-starter and have a bias towards action. You take initiative and are good at managing your own tasks and calendar. You are passionately and emotionally invested in your work. You take pride in your accomplishments and you actively take steps to ensure that products live up to their promise

  • An advocate. You have a natural ability to articulate design decisions in a clear, compelling way. You are comfortable receiving and adapting to criticism but are also effective in influencing people to see the merits of your point of view

  • A communicator. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to articulate your design decisions

  • Self-motivated. You are driven, motivated, self-managing and learn quickly


  • 5+ years of professional product design experience within an agency, startup, or enterprise environment
  • Strong command of interaction design, visual design, and information architecture with a mind for simplicity of design
  • Expert in creating atomic design systems
  • Experience designing in Agile methodologies and development environments
  • Advanced knowledge of Figma, Sketch, InVision, Adobe Creative Suite, and other modern design tools
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in human computer interaction, user experience design, human factors
  • A portfolio demonstrating visual design of digital products as well as your passion for simple, intuitive, and beautiful user-centered design 
  • Familiarity with natural language user interfaces
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS & JavaScript
