Orbita is looking for an entrepreneurial accounting professional who has an in-depth knowledge of accounting and financial reporting for both internal and external stakeholders. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Accounting Manager will take responsibility for all day-to-day accounting functions as well as a variety of compliance and other business duties.

  • Ownership of the accounting function and ensure accurate and timely completion of company reporting requirements
  • Monthly financial closings, corporate reporting, reconciliation and analysis
  • Ensure the completeness and accuracy of all accounting transactions in accordance with GAAP
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting function including but not limited to:
    • All daily accounting activities
    • Accounts payable/Accounts receivable
    • General ledger
    • Payroll and benefits management
    • Expense reconciliation
    • Capital assets reconciliations
    • Revenue recognition
    • Monthly, multi-state sales tax filings
    • Month, quarter, and end-year process
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial statements
  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
  • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
  • Establish and maintain files and records to document transactions
  • Establish and maintain accounting policies and procedures, as well as identify and recommend new policies and areas of improvement
  • Improve account reconciliation process, drive deadlines, enhance deliverables as they pertain to the month-end close and financial statement preparation process
  • Work with external auditors as needed and lead internal audit initiatives
  • Support and assist with Human Resources function as needed, such as; new hire on-boarding, benefits administration and management, employee background/security checks, etc.


  • Minimum 5 years proven experience working as an Accounting Manager or Accounting Supervisor
  • Previous accounting experience in a software organization preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with QuickBooks accounting software required
  • Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, and regulations
  • Accounting experience with foreign subsidiary
  • Prior experience working with external auditors highly desirable
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience identifying areas for improvement and implementation of more effective and efficient processes and controls
